The poster is for the Central Agricultural Association of France. Bright vibrant colours help to create a wonderful scene. Our eye is drawn first to the woman worker in the foreground, highlighted by her red shirt. She casts a weary glance to a proud looking worker, pitch fork in hand, who in turn, redirects our interest as he watches the group of men and women that walk ahead of the heavy hay wagon. Directly behind them we are drawn down a winding road through green fields into a tree-lined horizon against a striking blue sky. A brilliantly designed composition, drawn with strong line that takes us into the fields with the people that work them. An excellent example of the artist's work, of whom's life, little is known, other than that he was killed at the front in WWI.
