An ultra modern Art deco design advertising Osili laundry detergent.
The versatile painter and commercial artist Ernst Zoberbier created works of extremely different styles and artistic quality. While he initially produced pleasing, albeit often less demanding book illustrations, primarily for the Berlin publishers Eigenbrödler, in the 1920s he increasingly appeared with advertising graphics, especially car advertising. From the 1930s Ernst Zoberbier was primarily active as an artist, including as an excellent portrait painter.
A study of German commercial graphics. This bound edition printed in 1927 is an important study of a great era of German graphic design : posters, packaging, advertising, book illustration, programs for theater, sports, etc. Profusely illustrated, mostly with tipped-in color plates of work by Bernhard, Hohlwein, Klinger, Preetorius, Gipkens, Kleukens, Cissarz, Pechstein and many others.
