The Portfolio

 

The "Nouveau Salon des Cent" portfolio consists of a hundred posters created by one hundred of the best graphic designers of our time, from 24 different countries including China, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, Zimbabwe, the United-States and most of the European countries, as a tribute to Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, for the Centenary of his death, 1901-2001. Initiated by the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum Partners' Club. In cooperation with the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum of Albi. The printing was limited to only 380. The posters have been exhibited in major museums and galleries around the world.

 

The Designer - Mieczyslaw Wasiliewski

 

Born 1-01-1942 in Warsaw, Poland.

 

Studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, 1960-66. Diploma in the Studio of Poster of prof. H. Tomaszewski. Works as a poster, book, logo designer also as an illustrator. Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.

 

Teaching and workshops abroad at Artistic Academic Institutions: Damascus, Syria, 1980-82, Offenbach, Germany, 1989, Arnheim, Groningen, Holland, 1990, Helsinki, Rovaniemi, Finland, 1991-92, Montreal, Canada, 1995, Santiago, Vina del Mar, La Serena, Chile, 2000, and Guadalajara, Mexico, 2000.

 

Jury member of international poster and illustration competitions: Warsaw 1988 and 2000, Sofia 1998, Belgrade 1999, Moscow 2000, Mexico 2000, International jury of Diplomas Competition, E.S.A.G., Paris 1999.

 

Rewarded many times as a poster designer, among other prices: Gold and silver medal 1976 and 1994 at the International Poster Biennale in Warsaw, silver medal at the International Poster Triennial in Sofia 1996, first prize at the International Competition of Poster, Calendar for U.N.O. 1986, silver plaque award for poster at International Film Festival in Chicago, 1988.

 

15 individual exhibitions 1973-2000 in Poland, Germany, Spain, Finland, Bulgaria, Chile.

 

Works at collections of Poland, France, USA, Japan, Israel. Publications in Novum, Print, Graphis, Interpressgrafik, Projekt. Member of A.G.I. (Alliance Graphique Internationale).
