"A gorgeous example of Art Nouveau design in which four allegorical figures engage in handicrafts (needlework). A rare and brilliant example of Privat-Livemont's work."
The rare ornamental design portfolio Dekorative Vorbilder (Decorative Designs) was published for decoration inspiration and applied arts ideas, between 1889 and 1928. It was issued in monthly installments similar to the famous French publication Les Maitres de L'Affiche.
Privat-Livemont
"Privat Livemont was a virtuoso poster lithographer, always drawing the image on the stone himself. Woman was the subject of his work, almost to the exclusion of everything else. He created a type to whom he remained faithful, with heavy eyelids, heart-shaped mouth, and long decorative hair strewn with soft flowers."
