The Portfolio
The "Nouveau Salon des Cent" portfolio consists of a hundred posters created by one hundred of the best graphic designers of our time, from 24 different countries including China, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, Zimbabwe, the United-States and most of the European countries, as a tribute to Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, for the Centenary of his death, 1901-2001. Initiated by the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum Partners' Club. In cooperation with the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum of Albi. The printing was limited to only 380. The posters have been exhibited in major museums and galleries around the world.
The Designer - Liu Kai
Liu Kai worked for advertising and newspaper in 1980 and established a studio in 1984, undertaking design work until now.
He has been teaching in the Department of Interior Space Design, Shih Chien University since 1993.
He is a very creative graphic designer and exceedingly active in current Taiwan cultural circles. He works as overall graphic designer for many famous artists and cultural and art communities in Taiwan, such as the movie director Hou Hsiao Hsien and the Cloud Gate Dance Group.
Liu's great performance gets the attention of the international graphic design association (ICOGRADA) and professional design media Graphis, and he is usually invited to participate in some leading international design fairs. In 2001, Liu Kai is still engaged in any creative tryout.
